New Pathotype Nomenclature for Better Characterisation the Virulence and Diversity of Blumeria graminis f.sp. avenae Populations

چکیده

Fungal cereal pathogens, including Blumeria graminis f.sp. avenae, have the ability to adapt specific conditions, which in turn leads overcoming host resistance. An important aspect is standardized way of characterizing races and pathotypes pathogen. In presented work, for first time it was proposed use a unified letter code that allows describing B. avenae. The set 14 oat genotypes were used as differential set. This included having so far described powdery mildew resistance genes Pm1–Pm11, two (A. sterilis A. strigosa) with effective sources Bga. Based on analysis 160 Bga isolates collected 2016–2019 from 4 locations Poland, most numerous TBBB pathotype, represented by 30% tested isolates. It present all analyzed populations. Subsequently, 8.1% 6.3% TBCB RBBB pathotypes, respectively.

Virulence Structure of Blumeria graminis f. sp. tritici and Its Genetic Diversity by ISSR and SRAP Profiling Analyses

Blumeria graminis f. sp. tritici, which causes wheat powdery mildew, is an obligate biotrophic pathogen that can easily genetically adapt to its host plant. Understanding the virulence structure of and genetic variations in this pathogen is essential for disease control and for breeding resistance to wheat powdery mildew. This study investigated 17 pathogenic populations in Sichuan, China and c...

Genetic and forma specialis diversity in Blumeria graminis of cereals and its implications for host-pathogen co-evolution.

SUMMARY The grass powdery mildew fungus, Blumeria graminis is classified into eight formae speciales (ff.spp.) based on strict host specialization. However, evidence suggests that host ranges extend to more than one genus and are particularly diverse among samples from the Middle East, the proposed centre of origin and diversification of crop plants. This study investigated whether geographical...

on the comparison of keyword and semantic-context methods of learning new vocabulary meaning

the rationale behind the present study is that particular learning strategies produce more effective results when applied together. the present study tried to investigate the efficiency of the semantic-context strategy alone with a technique called, keyword method. to clarify the point, the current study seeked to find answer to the following question: are the keyword and semantic-context metho...

mlo5, a resistance gene effective against a biotrophic pathogen (Blumeria graminis fsp. hordei) confers enhanced susceptibility of barley to the necrotrophic fungus Bipolaris sorokiniana (teleomorph: Cochliobolus sativus)

The barley resistance gene mlo5 determines race non-specific resistance to the biotrophic powdery mildew pathogen Blumeria graminis f.sp. hordei. On the other hand, we have shown that barley lines that contain the mlo5 gene display enhanced susceptibility to the necrotrophic fungus Bipolaris sorokiniana (teleomorph: Cochliobolus sativus) and its toxic culture filtrate (Kumar et al. 2001). Enhan...
